Wild Spanish Mustangs of Corolla, North Carolina, USA

In 1920, there were 5,000 colonial Spanish mustangs on the northern Outer Banks of North Carolina.
In 2010, only 113 mustangs inhabited the 12 miles of sand north of Corolla on the narrow Outer Banks. Visitors must stay 50 ft. away from them as they are wild. The Corolla Wildhorse Fund serves to protect them. read more
