Famagusta Gate, Nicosia – #Cyprus (Republic)

Famagusta Gate is the most important of the three gates of the Venetian Walls of Nicosia in the eastern part of the walls in Old Nicosia. Built in the the 16th century by the Venetians and was originally named Porta Guiliani after Giulio Savorgnano, the designer of the walls.

The gate has been renovated in 1980 and has been a Nicosia Municipal Centre since then hosting various events and exhibitions indoors. On the outer side of the walls, there is also a small theatre and a lawn area where other events are being held.
